In my opinion, sustainability shouldn’t always be doom and gloom. Yes, some scary stuff is predicted to happen if we don’t shape up and take more care of the planet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun every now and then!
That’s why I thought I would introduce a fabulous game for you to while away a few minutes (or hours…) and impress your friends with your eco-pun skills! It was originally the masterpiece of my friend Remfrey, and it has now evolved into my favourite game for any long journey, dinner party or study procrastination!
Ok, so it may not actively help your day to day life be more eco-friendly…but it will get your creative juices flowing.
Eco Song Game
You will need:
- 2-6 people
- Pen and paper to score
- Egg timer
How to play:
The rules are simple. Taking it in turns, you must each take an existing song and transform it into an eco-song. Go pun tastic and rewrite the lyrics to be as green (and silly) as you can! There is no real right or wrong way to go, as long as you come up with something original within 1 minute!
For every one you get within 1 minute you get a point, if you miss a go two times, you’re out! Here’s a couple of Remfrey’s classics to kick you off:
Madonna: “Like a Vegan”
- Guns n Roses “Sweet Chives O’ Mine”
- Manic Street Preachers “If you tolerate this, the Planet will be next”
- Led Zeppelin “Whole Lotta Rosemary”
This is a very clever idea, Trudi!!
