Green Consumer: Eco yoga mats

This week we had friends staying with their gorgeous beagle pup, much to the dismay of our two cats!! Wonderfully friendly and generally well behaved, we didn’t think twice to leave him behind for the evening while we soaked up the Pixies at the Eden sessions (who were amazing by the way!) Unfortunately, poor old pups wasn’t so keen on chilling at home alone, and had a little moshing session of his own with one of our old yoga mats. As any pet owner will know, these things happen (you should see what my cats get up to!); and we weren’t precious about the mat.

But this did get me thinking about buying a new yoga mat, and I have been particularly keen to explore the world of green, or eco, yoga mats for a while now. But what makes a yoga mat eco? I looked at 5 of the top green yoga mats to find out…. Continue reading Green Consumer: Eco yoga mats

5 Lazy Natural Remedies for Summer Colds

But I will have to eat at some point, and when I do I want it to be the most ultimate comfort food I can think of…that isn’t boring old soup. So I thought today, for Meat Free Monday, I would share my old favourite Mexican Vegetable Stew recipe; which is soothing on the throat but has a bit of a chilli kick to help with coldy noses!  Continue reading Lazy Vegan Recipe: Mexican Vegetable Stew with Butternut Dip and Spiced Wedges

The Lazy Environmentalist: Too Busy to be Green?

I knew it would happen at some point, and I must admit I’ve been anticipating this moment since I started A Lazy Girl Goes Green, just over 3 months ago. But I guess if I’m honest, I think I secretly hoped that my passion, enthusiasm and stubbornness would win over circumstance. But at some point this week – despite my best intentions – I reached the reluctant realisation that I have just been far too busy to actively be green; let alone write about it! As each day passed me by so quickly, without my permission to proceed to the next, I’ve found myself reaching the weekend with only one blog written this week, and very little to report!
