OMG I think I Like Matcha Green Tea!

Sometimes, I wonder if I’m the only person in the world who can’t seem to get into Green Tea. And believe me, I’ve tried. I’ve tried a plethora of Green tea “infusions”, and played around with different brands. I’ve even experimented patiently with varying levels of strength, watching intently as though the dipping of a tea bag is a delicate, ground-breaking scientific experiment. But in the same way that I just can’t get into funk music – despite some of my best friends insisting upon its greatness – Green Tea and I just can’t seem to find a middle ground.

However, shamelessly intrigued by health trends and Instragram food porn images (this is far more innocent than it sounds, I promise), I’ve been dying to see if the increasingly popular Matcha Green Tea could convert me to the green side! My chance to get en- vogue in the tea world came recently, when I got my hands on a sample of OMGTEA Matcha tea powder. Continue reading OMG I think I Like Matcha Green Tea!

Zero Waste Week 2015 – My pledge to Reuse

It’s that time of year again, when summer has reached its peak, Autumn seems just around the corner AND…it’s nearly time for Zero Waste Week!

For those of you who have been hiding behind your bins bags for the last 8 years (naughty, naughty!) Zero Waste Week is an awesome campaign to get us reducing our waste for just one week a year, in a bid to set us up with some money saving, and planet saving, habits.

This year the week will be running between 7th – 13th September, and the theme this time is one of my favourite pastimes: ‘Reuse’. What better way to be green than to save on resources and make the most of what you’ve already got?! All you need to do is sign up and pledge just one thing you plan to tackle during the week in the name of Zero Waste! Zero Waste Tools for Foodies on the Go

Ola my lazy green lovelies! I just wanted to check in and share some zero waste gear I’ve recently purchased for drinking and eating on the go. These two nifty things will keep me avoiding single use plastic containers both at home, and on the road when travelling, and are fast joining my handbag essentials, along with my phone and purse.

You may recall in one of my first ever posts that I have a very irrational distaste for tap water. So much so that I literally can’t drink water unless it has been filtered or come straight from a spring. A bit of a Princess, I know, but I just can’t get used to the taste! As such, I’ve been carrying my trusty Bobble water bottle with me for the last year or so. Continue reading Zero Waste Tools for Foodies on the Go

Tropical Thirst Quenching Juice, plus Exclusive Juico UNO Offer

Happy Friday lazy green people, and what a lovely Friday it is! The sun is shining here in Cornwall and I’m trying to stay as cool as possible without reaching for the (dairy-free) ice-cream!  Instead, I’m keeping my hydration up and exporting myself to somewhere more exotic with my favorite tropical thirst quenching juice of watermelon, pineapple and cucumber!

I first came across this recipe a couple of weeks ago, when I was testing out my new Juico UNO juicer (see my review here) and was looking for something extra juicy. What I loved about this recipe is how much juice to pulp ratio you get, and – as my UNO is almost completely self-cleaning – I didn’t have to bother cleaning it out afterwards! Maximum juice and maximum flavor! Continue reading Tropical Thirst Quenching Juice, plus Exclusive Juico UNO Offer

Get Lost in Samsara, with a new ethical swap shop

I have long been a fan of the sharing economy concept – both ethically and financially – from Streetbanks Christmas advent challenge; to all the nifty ways sharing can save you money in the summer months.

So, I was very excited this week to hear from two lovely Italian ladies Marvia and Alessia – or Lost in Samsara – who have been passionately building an ethical swap shop initiative in London, as well as a website for others to join in on the sharing fun.

The Wheel Project is a new online platform which aim to bypass money and allow people to go straight to swapping goods and skills with one another. The process is easy peasy: simply choose what you’d like to swap, register on the website, create an offer and upload a picture. Then repeat the process as many times as you like!   Continue reading Get Lost in Samsara, with a new ethical swap shop

Lazy Vegan Recipe: Asian Spiced Aubergine and Pomegranate Salad

Simple, fresh and delicious: the three things that matter to me the most when it comes to lazy vegan dining. And this little recipe ticks all those boxes!

I actually came across this invention when I was trying to make a side dish for a vegan BBQ, and trying to use up a few salad leftovers from the previous day. It took less than 10 minutes to knock up, and was so different than anything I’ve ever eaten before.

I’m a bit of a sucker for Thai flavors and couldn’t resist experimenting with a vegetable which is usually so much more at home with tomato bases in Italian and Middle Eastern cooking. As always, I encourage you to throw together whatever you have left over which needs to be used up, but if you have any of the below ingredients, I say go for it!

Review: Juico Uno Slow Juicer

For anyone who follows me on Instagram, or has ever seen me on my weekly fruit and veg haul at the market, you’ll know I love juicing. And I mean really love juicing. I don’t just enjoy creating new concoctions based on what’s in season at the time, or the pleasure of downing my 5 a day in one sitting; I also love the zero waste challenge too, as I attempt to use up the juice pulp in the most interesting and nutritious ways.

So when the lovely people at Thrive Magazine asked me if they could send me a free juicer to road test for them, I didn’t need long to think about it! Continue reading Review: Juico Uno Slow Juicer
