A huge part of my going green journey so far has been about swapping some everyday essential items to more natural, greener versions; something which takes little time or effort, but could ultimately be more beneficial for the planet and my health.
Toothpaste in particular is something I have been experimenting with over the last couple of months, trying to find something that is natural, ethical and – more importantly – actually works! Continue reading Lazy Green Consumer: Natural Toothpaste
Happy lazy meat free Monday!!
I hope your weekend was filled with sun, fun and lots of lazing around! As usual, I had set out with lots of great intentions of blogs I wanted to write, but got easily distracted by the beach and the waves; oh the woes of a Cornish dweller! Continue reading Lazy Recipe: Vegan Avocado pizza toast
When I moved house recently (the carnage of which was documented here) I learnt the downside of taking in second hand equipment; discovering that the very cheap (and very old) second hand washing machine purchased on Gumtree did not fit the pipes installed in my brand new kitchen. No hot water meant no washing! Continue reading Green washing: soap nuts and cold water!
Happy Wednesday lazy green people! we are so close to the weekend I can smell it…
I just wanted to do a quick post to share some big news…. that I am officially in love with my new juicer! This was an early birthday present and I have been road testing it for the last month; before I announced my official verdict on juicing. I was a little curious, yet dubious, about how practical it was; and more importantly, how long it would take before my interest waned from the effort of juicing AND cleaning it out! Continue reading I heart my Juicer!
From the moment I decided to go green, I must admit I became a bit of a hoarder. And after learning that every year a person will use 10x their weight in household rubbish, I now stop and think every time I go to throw something away; tending to see my bin as the enemy. As I have said before, when you throw things away, there really is no such place; we are simply filling up the land we reply on to survive, with all our rubbish…and this freaks me out a little! Well, happy Meat free Monday lazy green people!!
This weekend has been a bit of a crazy one and I have to admit that I’ve really not done much in the way of advancing my “going green” journey. But it was filled with surfing, running, yoga and coastal walks; so at least I wasn’t my usual lazy self!
Speaking of which, I thought I would share another one of my magic recipes; which is easy, quick (vegan of course) and once made, makes up several meals in advance. Continue reading Lazy Recipe: Vegan Mushroom and Lentil Burgers
One of my favourite bloggers, Jen Gale from My Make Do and Mend Year, recently posted a “taking stock” post; as suggested by a blogging course she had attended. I thought this was a great idea, and is great timings as I am now approaching 2 months into my journey toward going green. Continue reading Taking stock – reflection, thunder and crisps
Last month in my Lazy Organic Eating blog I briefly touched upon the concept of eating seasonally. And in my traditional Trudi style, I forgot to explore this further and define what I actually meant. In fact, I realised that I have been talking about eating seasonally for months without really knowing why myself; let alone what’s actually in season!!
